STOP HUNGER NOW — January 7, 2012

December 19th, 2011 by heatherwong

Are you thinking about ways to be a better person in 2012? Do you want to help more people but don’t know where to start? Do you enjoy being around other people and making new friends? Then join us at Wesley on January 7, from 10am-Noon, as we package 10,000 meals for Stop Hunger Now (www.stophungernow.org). The meals we package will go to schools in developing countries — encouraging parents to send their children to school – or to people in immediate need of food in places like the Horn of Africa where there is severe drought and famine. Children ages 5 and older are encouraged to help package the meals with their parents; however, we will have child care for younger children whose parents are packaging meals. The good folks of Wesley also will provide a soup/chili lunch once all the meals are packaged. What better way to begin a new year than by helping others and meeting new people?!
